Summary
This article guides users on how to disconnect their calendar (Google, Microsoft, Apple Calendar) from Otter.ai. Users may encounter issues if integration settings are unclear or the disconnect steps fail, typically while trying to manage calendar connections for privacy or troubleshooting reasons.
🔍 Symptoms
- Otter notetaker keeps joining teams meeting
✅ Environment
Product: Otter.ai
Platform: Web
Version: Current (as per Help Center article)
User Type: End user or Admin
🧪 Root Cause
- Calendar disconnect may not complete if Otter.ai permissions are not properly removed from Google, Microsoft, or Apple account settings.
- Cached data or sync delays may cause events to still appear after disconnecting.
- UI navigation or account linking bugs can prevent successful disconnect.
🧰 Resolution Steps
-
Disconnect via Otter.ai
Sign into Otter.ai and navigate to Account Settings > Integrations. -
Click Disconnect on the right side next to the calendar you want to disconnect.
Your calendar will be immediately disconnected. Previously synced future events will be removed, and no further new events will sync to Otter.
-
Remove Otter.ai App Permissions
Log into your Microsoft account settings. Go here: Microsoft Apps dashboard and Remove Otter.ai’s access under third-party app permissions.
Additional Information
After disconnecting your calendar, note the following outcomes:
- Otter will no longer have access to your calendar.
- The 'Calendar' page in Otter will no longer show meetings from your calendar.
- OtterPilot will no longer be able to auto-join any meetings from that calendar.
- Pre-meeting email notifications from Otter will stop.
